OCTOBER 14, 2014 — Mayor Charlie Langlinais, members of the Broussard City Council and other city officials gathered today to officially break ground on the 27 million dollar St.Julien Park in Broussard.
The park is expected to be one of the premier recreation and athletic facilities in Louisiana once completed.
Local officials say they are excited for the potential of what the new facility can bring to the city of Broussard.
“We are really excited about it for the citizens of Broussard. Plus for the opportunity for the other events that may go on. It’s kind of a dream park to me, because its gonna be maintenance free. It’s all artificial turf, it’s going to be just a dream park.” said Jack Hains of Broussard Parks and Rec.
“We have 30 acres here for development. Before it’s all over virtually every aspect of operation whether it’s music to tee ball, it’s going to be covered.” said Broussard Mayor Langlinais.
The first phase of St.Julien Park is expected to be completed by late spring or early summer 2015.
